| HOME INSPECTION VALUATION EXPANSION
|
|
|
The Hartford takes pride in ensuring your customers have the right coverage for their home. That's why in 2017, we'll expand our Home Inspection program with the following changes:
- We'll conduct interior home inspections on New Business Home policies with a replacement value over $650,000.
- Effective February 2017, select Homeowners policies may be subject to exterior measurements. We'll use the measurements in the Costimator tool and evaluate the original replacement value on the policy. If the measurements result in policy coverage changes, The Hartford's underwriting team will contact you and discuss the changes.
- Starting March 2017, any existing Homeowner policy with a replacement value that has matured past a $1 million threshold will require an interior home inspection.
We'll send both you and your customers a pre-notification letter if selected for an inspection. The letters vary depending on the type of inspection, and the replacement value of your customer's home.
Sell your customers on the value of adequate home insurance coverage by downloading the free Insurance Value vs Market Value flyer (PLA # 158-1) from iMarket.
If you have any questions about the changes to our Home Inspection guidelines, please contact your Personal Lines Sales Consultant.
